Blasting And Painting
The pier’s existing steelwork is being pressure-washed to remove marine growth, shot blasted to clean the surface and spray-painted with a special marine coating by Lochshell Engineering. A special work cage has been constructed to fit over the fender pile allowing the engineers access to the entire pile over a tide. View Gallery.
College Visit
Inverness College UHI visited the Harbour on 5th March for a series of presentations about the project and a trip around the Harbour to view ongoing works. 15 civil engineer and quantity surveying students together with 2 staff spent the day on site. Pictures Here.
Caisson
Work on the Caisson is making excellent progress in Inchgreen Dry Dock at Greenock. This photo is a fantastic aerial shot showing it in the middle of the dry dock.
